I'm more suspect of the fact that the 1-series hatch was never sold in North America.

Edit: And listed as an '03, the 1er was new for '04.

Also it's listed as FWD. AFAIK these are RWD.

There is a 3-door version as well. I saw some in Europe over the summer and my only complaint is the tail-light design. After seeing them everywhere all of the time, the tail-lights start to look bland.

There is a 3-door version. I would love one of those as well. When these get to be 15 years old, maybe I'll look into importing one (Canada ftw).

Dayum! It's the new clownshoe - how did I not know about this?!

I love my 3 door hatches but I was born in the wrong country :(
